Raising the profile on pensions, workplaces and positive impact
Greenspace Financial is a UK financial advice firm committed to making a positive impact. Their impact is formally recognised through B Corp - an accreditation that indicates they meet high standards of social and environmental performance, transparency and accountability. Each year, a B Corp is required to document its impact through an Impact Report.
KOHA had the pleasure of working alongside Greenspace to produce its first B Corp Impact Report. Here's how a combination of wonderful conversation and collaboration led to the production of a B Corp Impact Report that educates and engages readers, meanwhile encourages change.
Since this, I've also gone on to move my pension pot to more impactful causes.
Understanding pensions and positive impact
Around 89% (22-million) of Great Britain’s workforce contributes to a workplace pension each year, equating to £150-billion savings in 2024 (Office for National Statistics).
Do you have a pension? Who is it with? Does your pension align with your values?
These are all important questions that Greenspace Financial (a B Corp) asks before helping its clients to align pension pots and investments with personal values.
‘Moving the national average pension wealth to a sustainable fund is 21 times more effective than the combined annual carbon savings of switching to a renewable energy provider, substituting all air travel with rail travel and adopting a vegetarian diet,’ says Make My Money Matter.
Make My Money Matter, co-founded by Four Weddings and a Funeral film director Richard Curtis, has campaigned for five years for banks and pension providers to stop financing new fossil fuel projects and halt deforestation. Benedict Cumberbatch and Olivia Colman are among the celebrities who backed the campaign.
Who are Greenspace Financial?
Greenspace Financial is a boutique, directly authorised financial advice firm in the UK. The company has been a B Corp since it was founded by Dan Old and Marc Buckley who promote responsible investment for private investors and businesses.
To date (2025), the firm has screened more than £17-million for sustainability and positive impact. It has also planted more than 200 trees as part of its rewilding project in the Scottish Highlands.
Positive impact is at the core of the company and its formal recognition as a B Corp. A B Corp, or Certified B Corporation, is a for-profit company verified by the non-profit B Lab to meet high standards of social and environmental performance, accountability and transparency.
As part of its B Corp accreditation, Greenspace is required to deliver an annual B Corp Impact Report reflecting its progress in creating positive impact.
Greenspace B Corp Impact Report
KOHA began working with Greenspace Financial in 2023 to produce its first B Corp Impact Report. View the report at the end.
The company had just finished its first full year as a B Corp following a year of B Corp Pending. It had limited resources, capacity and marketing collateral. As a result, Greenspace was looking for a document that could be used interchangeably and universally within and outside the business.
The document needed to:
Follow the B Corp Impact Report structure
Be accessible and jargon-free
Be in the following formats:

Editable PowerPoint presentation
PDF marketing brochure that engaged and educated
The B Corp Impact Report build
With just a logo and a website present, Greenspace’s Impact Report was always destined for more.
The following components were required:
Brand theme
Tone of voice
Content strategy
Copy
Graphics (including development of a Spectrum of Capital tool)
Image sourcing
Design
The content
By working closely with Dan to understand Greenspace’s personality and purpose, KOHA crafted content that reflected a journey:
Greenspace’s journey.
A B Corp journey.
A journey for anyone in or outside a business to understand.
A journey that would educate the reader and encourage accountability personal pensions and the impact they have on people and the planet.
Data was used to reinforce messaging. Messaging was simple and clear. Plain language was essential to break down jargon and ensure accessibility.
The design
While graphic design services were not part of the brief, light design services were provided to ensure a high-quality document that was on-brand.
The outcome? A simple design with minimal on-page text, presented in landscape PDF and PowerPoint formats that could be modified in-house when required.
The result
A multi-purpose document capturing Greenspace’s story; purposely, impactfully and strategically. It has since become an essential tool for the business.
